On April 14, 1933, John Mackay and his wife saw "something resembling a whale" as they drove past Loch Ness - sparking 80 years of speculation and mystery surrounding the aptly named monster, Nessie. Numerous sightings of her have since been reported but there is still a lack of evidence to prove she really exists. But that doesn't stop us from wanting to believe.
